13.45% growth rate in Muslim dominated Mallapuram while Kerala only have 4.86% growth rate

published on May 11, 2013

While Kerala can boast about having one of the slowest growth rate of Population compared to many other States, Muslim dominated Malappuram District have one of the highest Population growth in the Country. If it was 9.42% growth rate in the last Census of 2001 this time in 2011 it further reduced to 4.86% but in Mallapuram the population growth is nearly 13.45%.

While there is a steady rate of decrease in the Population of Hindus and Christians in the state over the decade, Population among Muslims is increasing day by day. As the population increases the number of assembly seats also increases for Mallapuram and other Muslim dominated districts.

Family control and Nation building has reduced only the responsibility of the others while Muslim couples concentrate on 3-5 Children .  If the state don’t recognize the perils of a Muslim majority landscape in Kerala and come together to take actions and awareness against this one sided population explosion, tomorrow our children will face the same fate as that of Pakistani Hindus and Bangladeshi Hindus. No secular leaders who preach the importance of communal harmony in the society will then come forward to stop this menace.
