Money changed hands in SNC Lavlin scam – Witness

Deepak Kumar, a Chennai-based entrepreneur from Thiruvananthapuram, submitted a petition to the CBI claiming that he was a witness to money changing hands in the SNC Lavalin deal. The agency on Wednesday indirectly admitted in the court that it was in receipt of such a petition.

In his 60-page petition to the CBI, Deepak Kumar said he was in the know of several facts regarding the SNC Lavalin deal as he was then a colleague of Dileep Rahul, a middleman for the deal, in Chennai. He said that he was present on several occasions of negotiations over the SNC Lavalin deal in Kerala and had witnessed money changing hands. Reports said that Pinarayi Vijayan’s name figured in several places in the petition.
