A prison is a place in which people are physically confined and, usually, deprived of a range of personal freedoms. (According to Wikipedia)

3 Lorry full of goods including 50 knives, unspecified quantity of iron and wooden rods, 26 mobile phones, 27 mobile chargers, drugs, contraceptives, sleeping pills,  Rs 3,519 in cash, food items, parts of pressure cookers, axe blades, ganja, beedies, cigars, coconut scrapers, grinding stones, vegetable knives, equipment used for concrete work, wood articles, kerosene, stove, vessels, masala powders
etc.

All of these items were captured in multiple raids conducted at the Kannur Central Prison inmates.

So what personal freedoms is deprived here for the prison inmates? Nothing. All what you get outside, and even what you may not getoutside (ganja) is available in Kannur central prison.

This is the same prison where BJYM state secretary Jayakrishnan master’s assassin Pradeepan is lodged. Pradeepan is going to be released shortly based on the recommendation of council of prison board advisors consisting of CPM district secretary P Sasi, P Jayarajan and the Home Minister.

Many of the Marxist party professional killer comrades are “vacationing” here in Kannur central prison in between murders. For them this Prison in Communist fort of Kannur will give a secure haven from any retaliatory attacks by their victims.

This is the same prison where equipments like mobile jammers and video cameras were installed by spending lakhs of rupees and those were made non-functional in few days time.

So, who are the bosses at Kannur Central prison?

The prison board members like P Sasi, Jayarajan and our Home minister all from CPM have a big say in day to day activities at prison. The information about the raid in prison was leaked the first day, and only few items were recovered.

But the next day there were raid conducted without intimating the local authorities and recovered  3 lorry full of items.

For Marxist criminals lodged in Kannur prison, getting parole at their will is possible here. Even Kerala high court had intervened in 2007 and questioned the various issues like granting parole at will and clashes in the prison etc. Prison Superintendent and  Prison DGP MGA Raman
had  appeared  before the high court and gave statement in court that prison officials are afraid of acting because of the political intervention (read Marxists party intervention) in prison.

For telling this truth, On October 17 2007, the State Cabinet headed by Marxists decided to remove M. G. A. Raman from the post of Director General of Police (Prisons) and appoint him as Managing Director of Kerala Books and Publications Society, Kochi (where he don’t need to deal with many Marxists).

It was only because of two notorious criminals escaped from prison, all these freedom within prison has been exposed now. Otherwise it would have been as good as any star hotel. One who know about Kannur politics know very well that , Within days the luxury returns back and its only matter of days. Once the media interest fades the very same items whisked away in day light will be transported back in a night.
