Nine PFI terrorists arrested from hide out

Palakkad: Police arrested nine Popular Front workers, said to be accused in several criminal cases from a hideout near Palappuram, Ottapalam in Palakkad district. Sources indicated that these activists were involved in cases like bomb attacks and murders. They also said that these activists belonged to different parts of the State.

The arrest at 7.00 am Friday followed the receipt of secret information by N Muraleedharan, Circle Inspector of Police. The nine activists were said to have been living for the past two weeks in a rented house near the Palappuram railway station. It is said that workers engaged in sand-mining had passed he information to the police. Those arrested belonged to Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts, sources said.
