Madani’s arrest: VHP flays delay

KOCHI: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today slammed the delay in the arrest of PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani, an accused in the 2008 Bangalore serial blasts case, claiming those “not allowing” his arrest “want to perpetrate terrorism”.

“Those not allowing him to be arrested. What do they want? They want terrorism to perpetrate,” VHP international president Ashok Singhal told reporters here.

The PDP leader, who faces arrest in the case, had yesterday said that he would surrender before the nearest court “in the coming days”. Referring to the Afzal Guru case, Singhal said the sentence was yet to be carried out.

“They (government) were succumbing to the greed of Muslim votes,” he said. The senior VHP leader also criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his remarks on possible autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir.

Kashmir belongs to the whole country, he said.
