MUVATTUPUZHA: The dismissal order was issued to Newman College lecturer TJ Joseph as a penalty specified in Item 7 of Statute 73 part D, chapter 45 of MG University Statute 1997 – dismissal from a private college which shall be a disqualification for future employment in any of the institutions maintained by or affiliated to the university.

Joseph was too upset on receiving the dismissal order and he was examined by doctors. Joseph’s sister Marie Stella said that her family had not expected the dismissal order.

Meanwhile, the Newman College management said that the college was ready to reinstate Joseph if the Muslim community pardons him.
