KASARGOD: BJP state president V Muraleedharan said here on Monday that the CPM has surrendered to sex-racketeers and mafia gangs.

Inaugurating the election convention of the party in Manjeswaram, Muraleedharan said the CPM was not ready to take stern action against P Sasi who was demoted in the party for alleged moral  turpitude. “The normal practice in the CPM is to expel any member who indulged in immoral activities, but Sasi was protected in the party with a minor punishment. The CPM fears that many skeletons in the party’s cupboard will tumble down if Sasi is dismissed from the party,” the BJP leader said.

Muraleedharan said that C K P Padmanabhan, who had made the complaint to the party against Sasi, was not given any seat and so was the case of P K Sreemathi teacher who spoke against him. He demanded that the Chief Minister should clarify whether he was satisfied with the action taken against Sasi.

“The CPM has now taken action against Sasi only at the organisational level, but a case should be registered against him for abusing women,” he said.

Muraleedharan added that the CPM was facing a big ideological crisis and even top leaders were taking opposite stands.
