SDPI – A terrorist party created to spread violence and communal hatred

via HK Correspondent published on April 12, 2011

KOLLAM : Yesterday evening the polling campaign came to end with a few skirmishes at some places. But, at Karunagappally in Kollam district the closing down ceremony turned out as a show of strength of SDPI. They used the occasion to demonstrate their disregard for the law of land and to the law enforcing authorities. It must be to the knowledge of every one that Karunagapply acts as a nerve centre for counterfeit currency. It is not only for the black money that it tops, in land value, Beverage Corporation’s liquor sale, used vehicle dealers (especially two wheelers), real estate agencies etc. also this place is on top. Whether it has relevance of being a town close to Abdul Nasser Madani’s native place is unknown, but there was news in the media that counterfeit notes for about 10 crores had flown to this place just before the arrest of Madani. SDPI formed in recent times as a political party from remnants of erstwhile ISS/PDP/NDF/SIMI stands out as a Muslim muscle flexing group who voluntarily involve in any issue related to Muslims and behaves like a protector of Muslim interest. In Kollam district, Karunagappally, Sasthamcota and Poruvazhy are their strong holds and the law enforcing agencies remain as mute spectactors towards their vandalism.

The campaign closing down show at Karunagappally junction turned as the muscle flexing ceremony of SDPI. By around 4.30 p.m their volunteers in several motorbikes assembled near Karunagappally police station in the town. They were then joined by about 100 more SDPI workers who arrived at the scene on motor cycles. Such large number of bikes and personnel blocked the highways which lead to skirmishes with UDF supporters and the SDPI activists then blocked the vehicle of UDF candidate A.N.Rajan Babu and forced him to get down from the vehicle and broke the windshield of the car. This lead to major clash between SDPI supporters and UDF supporters and the traffic was totally blocked. Due to blockade, LDF candidate C.Divakaran’s vehicle could not enter the town and he was forced to walk from Padanayarkulangara to Karunagapplly town to attend the closing down ceremony. All these time, police remained as spectators and it was only by 6p.m that the traffic was resumed.
