Muslim League eying cabinet position for E. Ahmed
TVM : Muslim league by securing 20 seats in Kerala Assembly elections emerged as the king makers and demanded 5 ministerial positions according to their choice. The congress, struggling with their own internal problems and the slender majority agreed to give 4, but the league is understood to have demanded an elevation for E.Ahmed in central ministry by raising him to cabinet rank! It is now understood that the congress high command did not agree for a cabinet position for E.Ahmed. So, the league has again started pressing for the fifth ministerial berth in the ministry.
Oommen Chandy could not so far have their own party list of ministers even after the discussion he had in Delhi with high command and the prime minister yesterday. Yesterday Mr.Ganesh Kumar was the Tourism minister, but today he has been shifted to Forest and Environmental affairs. K.M.Mani for the time being appears to be content with the promise that the congress command is understood to have given about a position for his son in the central ministry. And if that does not happen, there could be serious repercussion from his side as well. Just think of it, if the Hindus in Kerala had the mind, there could have been three BJP MLAs in assembly and all those political equations hitherto remained in Kerala politics could have had a change for the good!
