Thiruvananthapuram: A ceremony was held at Muzhukkumpuzha to remember three RSS activists who were murdered on this day in the year 1988. The three RSS men Venu, Lalikkuttan and Rajesh were murdered by a large group of CPM men on Atham day while they were engaged in activities connected to the ‘onam` festival.  The RSS men were cut down with sharp weapons and their bodies buried under mud.

RSS leaders said that the Muzhukkumpuzha and Katinamkulam were considered a no-go area for political activists other than those of the CPM but the RSS managed to break this taboo. The RSS men were killed for this breach of political exclusiveness.
