RSS leader C P Janardhanan passes away.

Perinthalmanna: Chengarayil CP Janardhanan, one of the first persons in Kerala, to work selflessly for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is no more. He breathed his last yesterday. He was 79 years old. He leaves behind his wife Nirmala, daughter Lakshmi, son-in-law Harish (Manager, Taj Hotel, Kozhikode). The cremation will be conducted in the premises of his home this evening.

One of the pillars of many organizations that stood for Hindu unity, CP Janardhanan was a towering presence with his selfless work. He name stands in the fore front of those who bravely forged ahead for the progress of Hindu unity in the district of Malappuram. His demise marks the end of a chapter that witnessed some of the strong and resolute programmes in the state.

Janardhanan can rightly be called the pioneer of all activities related to RSS in Malappuram. The hard work and skill he invested in every work he did, stands unparalleled. He was not only a towering patriarch, but also a humble co-worker. This endeared him to all alike, with him fondly being referred to as ‘CP’.

Janardhanan was born in 1933 to Chinnakuttinanga at Chengarapuram in the month of November under the ‘Makyiryam’ star. He has a sister Nanikutty. Protesting against the period of Emergency imposed by Indra Gandhi, he worked for a span of almost 18 months, incognito. His services as a Pracharak were extended to Kozikode, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Idukki and Trissur district. During his life time, he had donned a number of prestigious posts. They were Sanghchalak of Malappuram district, District President of Viswa Hindu Parishad, Convenerof Dharma Raksha Sammiti, Malappuram, Founder President of Perinthalmanna Gokulam Balasadanam, Founder and co-worker of Angaadipuram Vidyaniketan School, Perinthalmanna Valluvanadu Vidya Bhavan School, member of Thirumandham Kunnu Devaswom Board Advisory Committee, Rakshadhikari of Thali Angaadippuram Mahadeva Temple Renovation Committee, Chairman of Malaparambu Mattummel  Sree Narasimhamurthy Temple Trust, member of committees of Angadippuram Igangathupuram Sreekrishna Temple and Malappuram Dharma Raksha Sammithi.

As the news of his demise was conveyed, there was a huge gathering of people, who came to pay their last respects to the departed soul in his residence at Angaadipuram.
