Another Tip of Maraad Iceberg

published on March 26, 2012

One more tip of the most elusive Maraad iceberg had come out in the public domain in recent times – Galfar Mohammed Ali’s helping hand for the victims through Kaithapram Namboothiri, immediately after the massacre of Hindus. But for reasons unknown, atleast to most of us now, the media is not interested in finding out more about this curious jesture. The list of VIPs and VVIPs involved directly or indirectly with the Maraad massacre is increasing on daily basis and unless there is a comprehensive enquiry to unravel the mystery behind it, there will not be any end to our legitimate suspicions.

But those in power now are mortally afraid of such an enquiry. It is sure to become another ‘smartha vicharam of thatrikutti’ if an impartial enquiry is ordered. Most of the idols of secularism will stand naked in the process. Those paragons of virtue who are pouring in petro-dollars for Kerala’s so-called development will turn out to be the same who financed the heinous crime. And the very same rulers who are supposed to ensure rule of law will become the very same who evaded the same so far.

But the truth is sure to surface one day, even if it is after a century. It will be a great slap on the face of India ’s much acclaimed secularism when it happens. All those who swear by secularism in the secular part of a land which was divided on religious grounds will have a lot to answer. What would have been the fate of such villains if it was in Pakistan will be a good secular exercise to ponder about? As of now, there is enough reason to conclude that the Maraad massacre was nothing but a full fledged rehearsal for what happened subsequently in Mumbai on 26/11/2008.
