Temple under Bomb attack in Palaghat

Chitoor: Bombs were hurled towards Ganapathi temple in Vandithavalam near Chitoor in Palghat district in the early hours of Monday.

While Hindus were celebrating Vishu cracking fire works, the miscreants threw powerful bombs towards the temple which resulted in severe damage. People nearby thought the loud explosions were part of Vishu celebrations and ignored it. It was only when temple priest came in the morning the extend of damage was identified.

Hundreds of Hindus under Hindu organizations protested against the attack. Police registered case and started investigation. Temples have become a easy target in Kerala and there is a concerted effort from a section to create communal riots by igniting the passion of Hindus.
