Perunthachan Shilpashaastra Award for Devadas Achary

The Perunthachan Shilpashaastra Award for master craftsmanship will be conferred on eminent artisan Devadas Achary, The award, constituted by Uliyannoor Perunthachan Kuladevatha Kshetra Samithi will be presented in a function on 19 June.

The award, which consists of prize money Rs 20,000, a citation and plaque, will be presented by former Union Minister O Rajagopal at a consecration ceremony on Wednesday. The Bhuvaneswari Devi Award will also be presented to MM Narayanan on the same day.
Master craftsman Devadas Achary’s divine creations include the architectural marvels of the ‘Chuttambalam’ and ‘Kodimaram’ of Cheenickal Bhagavathy temple, the renovation works of Kattappana SreeDharma Shastha Temple etc.
