Saritha S Nair and the Aranmula airport link: Mystery deepens.

published on July 9, 2013
The prime accused in the solar panel scam that has rocked the UDF government, Saritha S Nair could be linked to the Aranmula International Airport project as well. Saritha’s phone calls which are now being scanned includes the numbers which belongs to KGS Group, the project initiators. According to sources, this new revelation is likely to throw more light on how the the KGS Group secured permission for the airport project.

The call list shows clearly how Saritha has made umpteen calls to 9846266799, the number of Dr. PT Nandakumar, Executive Director of KGS Group. There are also reports that Saritha was introduced to the central ministry by Nandakumar, which is supposed to have led to the procurement of permission for the airport project from the Civil Aviation Ministry.

Reports state that KGS tried to extract permission by influencing central ministers, when the ministry denied permission initially.

It was on 4 August, 2011 that former Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi had made it clear in the Rajya Sabha that permission was denied for the airport project. Vayalar Ravi’s statement came in response to a query made by PJ Kurien.

However, KGS Group managed to secure permission for the airport project, with Saritha’s influence.

Saritha’s alleged presence in the matter cements the statement made by former Aviation department secretary that the airport project will get a green signal at any cost.
