RSS Demands Permanent Shutting down of Bars that have Hitherto been Closed

published on July 3, 2014

Palakkad: The recently held state unit conclave of Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh in Palakkad has passed a resolution urging the state government not to succumb to any kind of pressure and reopen any of the bars that have hitherto been closed down, even if it meant revamping their standards.

The RSS has opined that the SC’s statement of “alcoholism, a social malady that could never come to a halt as long as it is readily available” is in fact, “a directive for the state government to do the needful in this direction. However, the stand taken by government bodies seems diametrically opposite to this, with the administration going in the direction of enhancing its availability. This stands to sabotage its own claims of lowering alcoholism in the state.”
