RSS leader Murder Case: Interrogation Begins, Vikram Spills out as Tutored by CPM

Crime Branch investigation into the murder of RSS activist Manoj has begun with prime accused Vikraman being subject to a series of stringent interrogations. The interrogation team has also gathered evidences from various places, including the place of crime, in the presence of Vikraman.
 
Sources reveal that Vikraman has testified to having been part of a gang of seven that committed the murder. It has also been observed that Vikaraman’s statements to the police, right from the beginning seems to be like the party’s tutored lessons, with the accused seemingly adept in responding to questions put forth before him. However, police suspect that some of the names and details reveled by the accused are either fake or misleading.
 
“The party has probably decided previously about the names of those who should be tagged on to accussed list. This has to be cross examined in a scientific manner. Only then can anything be confirmed,” said an official on conditions of anonymity.
 
Police are also looking into various facets like Vikraman’s statement about his being present in his home town, even after the murder was executed and the news of his arrival in the panchayat’s official vehicle.
 
“Vikraman is said to have stated that his arrival, with a decision to surrender, was in an autorickshaw. However, the day was that of hartal called for by autorickshaws and taxis. When questioned further, he maintained silence. Manoj’s friend Pramod, who was grievously injured and yet escaped death, had testified that the former was hacked to death with an axe. But Vikaraman had given a statement that the murder was committed with the use of sickle ,” said sources.

Vikaraman was also subject to medical examination, which revealed around 9 wounds on his body caused by splinters piercing in, owing to the bomb blast. This further confirms his direct presence in the attack. Eye witnesses have also confirmed that Manoj was hacked to death immediately after the bomb was hurled at his vehicle.

Reports however state that Vikraman’s surrender is part of a well planned drama scripted by CPM, where the police is allegedly playing a role. The CPM has also allegedly played a major role in trying to sabotage proceedings of the case.

The first session of interrogation was done in Thalassery at the camp office of Crime Branch.
