Kiss of Love – Maoist groups under scanner

The latest intelligence report points to Maoist groups having organized the Kiss of Love event at Marine Drive, with the aid of the gay rights group LGBT. Intelligence reports also confirm that Maoist leaders from Hyderabad had arrived in Kochi, prior to the event.

Intelligence sources also report that “Maoists had, as their centre, Law College, Kochi, where they chalked out future plans and conducted study classes. They had plans to garnering students into the movement in a short span of time and had made visits to many colleges in the city. There are reports of one the spear-headers of the event, Jijo Kuriakose, a native of Kottayam having gone to Hyderabad and maintained a close connect with key gay rights activists.”

The Maoist agenda was to portray the entire incident as “a state having a sexually distorted view”, where the actual organizers would stand as onlookers. Intelligence have also received reports of former Naxal activists having arrived at the place, especially those who had their activities centered in the North.

“Had there not been a widespread protest against the same, scores of people would have got ready for a display of public kisses. Maoists are said to be making use of such means to entice youths into their fold. There are reports of a dangerously growing Maoist presence among youths,” said sources on condition of anonymity, adding that even Intelligence agencies are not very clear about the invisible presence of Maoists, which is now evident from the incident at Marine Drive.

“The organizing of another ‘Kiss of Love’ in Hyderabad, the very next day it was conducted in Marine Drive, confirm the connection. There are also reports of a Left oriented student leader of Law College Ernakulam being active coordinators of the movement. The student leader has been closely linked to the Maoist leader and is under surveillance,” state reports.

Youths who participated in the event are also suspected to have been given intoxicants. Event organizers and the anti-national networking are said to have made use of social media to make a head way into the midst of youth. Pondichery University and Institute of Technology, Kozhikode are said to be their main dens. One of their suspected targets is to create anarchy amongst youths, by making the ‘Kiss of Love’ a hot debatable topic and luring them into the Maoist path. Police sources state among those arrested from the venue of the Marine Drive event, as many as thirty are said to be working directly for Naxal causes. Intelligence agencies have also concluded that many among the spectators too are those that support Naxal causes.
