Trissur Sahithya Academy Premises a Meeting Place for Moaists: Report

Thrissur:  The latest reports from Intelligence sources state that the
premises of Sahithya Academy, situated in the heart of Thrissur is now a focal point of those who support and promote Maoist ideology. Covert reports have also confirmed that Thrissur district is now a breeding place for naxalities.

According to sources, these anti-national elements have forged their
presence into society and function under various garbs. It is said
that the famed Academy premises is now a place where these elements
exchange pamphlets and discuss ways to conduct various protestprogrammes. Police suspect link between these groups and the notorious Maoist leader from Valappadu, Roopesh and his wife Shyna.

It has also been reported that individuals, who have not associated
with any group, have also made Thrissur a naxal meeting ground.Security has been tightened in and around Thrissur, especially in police stations that have close proximity to forest areas. “More guards have been deployed in the place.”said city Police Commissioner Jacob Job.

It is also being suspected that many programmes involving political
leaders, ministers, which are conducted in Thrissur are widely attended by people who support the naxal ideology. Reports also suspect the admittance of two persons in Mulamkunnukavu Medical College Hospital, who could be the same Maoists who were injured in the recent police crackdown in Wayanad. However, the two are likely to
have fled the place before the team reached the hospital.
