HAV Impact – Court order bans functioning of illegal mosque in Mallappuram district

Parappanangadi (Malappuram): There has been a Court order putting a halt to the working of an illegal mosque, following complaints from the general public. According to sources, the mosque, which is situated on the side of Parappanangadi Cheramangalam- Kurishu Road has been functioning unlawfully since long.

According to the directive, issued by Tirur sub-divisional Magistrate Dr OJ Arun, a halt has been put to the constant use of loud speakers airing Islamic prayers and speeches. The report was submitted to the Court by the Tahsildar, “following which owner of the establishment Sayyeed Abdul Hameed Bukhari has been asked to stop all activities pertaining to the building.”

“The Hindu Aikya Vedi had taken up the matter and spoken to the concerned authorities. But there was no congenial response or initiative on their part,” said sources, adding that it was at this juncture that a case was filed in Court by Hindu Aikya Vedi.

Sources have also stated that the illegal Islamic building was initially a house, which was purchased by an Islamic organization of Tirurangadi Taluk
