Rabid Dogs of Kannur vent their frustration on Street Dogs

KANNUR: In a shocking development, the carcasses of three dogs, with their necks slit were hanged on an electric post near Ukkas Motta in East Kathiroor here on Tuesday. The incident took place on the first death anniversary of RSS leader Kathiroor Manoj and the dogs were hanged on the very spot where he was killed on September 1, 2014.

It was on this electric post the van of Manoj hit after bombs were hurled at him.

The carcasses were spotted by the local RSS workers who were on their way to attend a prayer meeting organised to mark the death anniversary of the slain leader. They immediately informed the police who removed it from there to prevent any further tension.

Such a heinous incident to mark the death anniversary of a slain leader is a clear signal on the part of those who did it, said the BJP-RSS leadership, who added that the CPM was behind it.

The CPM wants to create unrest in the region in the nastiest manner, because they are afraid of their cadres joining the Sangh Parivar, said senior RSS functionary and Vibhag Karyavahak V Sasidharan.

While Manoj was murdered by hacking and hurling bombs in the Taliban manner on September 1, 2014, even after one year of the incident they are following the same path and the latest incident is an example of the brutal perversion in the minds of the killers and those who supported it, said BJP district president K Ranjith.

Meanwhile, Kathiroor police said they have taken the issue seriously and a case has been registered under Sections 153 and 429 of the IPC. Considering the gravity of the incident, the post-mortem of the dogs would be conducted as part of the investigation, they said.
