Court of religious scholars ordered to kill Maniappan

via HK published on November 23, 2005

The decision to kill Maniappan was made by a court of the hard line movement’s religious scholars controlled by Islamic terrorist group Taliban.

“Today at 6:00 pm we killed the Indian road worker based on our earlier ultimatum. We had earlier given a 48-hour ultimatum. Nobody contacted us, that’s why we killed the guy. We have thrown out his body.”  Taliban said in a telephone call from an undisclosed location.

The body of Maniappan was found dumped in a desert in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday.

Maniappan, who worked for the Indian government’s Border Roads Organisation, was snatched in southern Nimroz province on Saturday with an Afghan driver and two police guards. The driver was released on Monday and the other two Afghans were still under their custody.
