Ranjith Varghese an agent of Brother Yohannan?

KOTTAYAM: Students of the School of Medical Education here say that Ranjith Varghese, the prime accused in the sexual abuse of a Hindu nursing student, was a close associate of  K P Yohannan, the Thiruvalla based evangelist who is engaged in proselitization all over the state on a war footing.

Students of the SME told this correspondent on condition of anonymity that Ranjith and his gang are paid well by Yohannan to sexually abuse as many Hindu girls as possible. “The operation is like this. Ranjith aided by his gang and other Christian girls in the SME select Hindu girls and seduce them with sweet words and promises of marriage. To get the confidence of these girls, Ranjith, who is adept in acting the role of Romeo, goes on telling the innocent girls that he is all set to go the United States and he would take the girls along with him,” said a Hindu girl who does not want to be named. “Most of these girls are from villages in Central Travancore and elsewhere and are in the dark about the evil designs of the Ranjith gang,” said another student. It is also said that all the Christian girls, especially those who came out in the open supporting Ranjith, have been offered jobs and citizenship in USA, UK and Canada by Gospel for Asia headed by Yohannnan.

“K.P. Yohannan is the founder and president of Gospel for Asia, a mission organization involved in evangelism and church planting in the unreached regions of Asia. Currently Gospel for Asia supports over 14,000 church planters in the heart of the 10/40 Window,”says an introduction about Gospel For Asia on its website.

“Chances are that this has been continuing for some time now. One of the girls told me that Ranjith has succeeded in taking the nude pictures of some of the girls after drugging them. He is blackmailing many of them with dire consequences if they reveal anything to their parents or police,” said a social activist who had a talk with some of the girls and boys in the campus.  He also said that Ranjith has  hired    gang of hoodlums and goondas from Kottayam and Kochi to finish off anybody daring to challenge him.

“The gang of girls moving around with Ranjith are capable of doing anything like kidnapping Hindu girls and drugging them so that the Christian fanatics can rape them without any hindrance,” said  a campus insider. The house rented out by Ranjith was the venue for the sexual orgies lasting the whole night. There is a marked uneasiness at the SME campus and strangers are watched closely. Though under suspension, the Principal has sent word to the students not to speak to any outsiders. She herself is a shady character and there are many stories behind her rise to the present position.
