Major Ravi, whose earlier films Keerthichakra on the Kashmir conflict and Mission 90 Days on the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case have won accolades from many corners, is now shooting his third movie Kurukshetra in Kargil.

The movie tells a story based on Pakistan’s intrusion into the Indian Territory and the resultant war between the two countries. Mohanlal’s role is that of a Colonel with tolerance and the determination to protect his compatriots. Tanya Singh and Nehak Bhatia will be playing the female roles in the film. But none of them are the pair for Mohanlal.

Other casts include Padmapriya, Siddique, Biju Menon and Sooraj Venjaranmoodu. Azhagappan is the cameraman, and Siddharth, a new music director is being introduced.

The story, dialogues and screenplay are by the director himself. Cinematographer Lokanathan is handling the camera. The film has four songs, one of them in Hindi.

“No Indian cinema has been shot in Kargil so far and it will be a patriotic movie like my earlier films,” Major Ravi said.
