Move to sideline Achuthanandan?

via AKM published on December 3, 2005

The recent Statements by V.S Achuthanandan on DIC(K) had once again exposed the factional feuds inside CPM.In his recent statement Achuthanandan the seniormost leader of CPM phoo phooed the role of DIC(K) in last elections at the same time Pinarayi Vijayan the leader of official faction had already dedicated their Civic Poll victories to DIC(K).

V.S.Achuthanandan and a group of hard core communists were against the soft corner of Pinarayi with their arch rival Karunakaran, But for Pinarayi who always showed his political shrewdness to Sideline other senior leaders , knows well, no more his party can depend on the dead party ideologies and to stay in power they have to accept anyone who can pull some vote from the mass, No problem if its their evertime rival Karunakaran nor the fundamentalist NDF.

A group of old comrades had expressed their concerns about the fascist attitudes of CPM in recent attack on a lady councillor and even on few CPI leaders at the time of Civic elections at Alleppey.CPI was also against Pinarayi’s romance with Father and Son from begining.

As a counter statement to Achuthanandan’s comments DIC(K) leader M.P.Gangadharan(Old Water pipe scanadal fame, who was also in news for conducting the marriage of his minor daughter) is more interesting. He says Achuthanandan has no role in CPM nor any power to take decisions. His party dont care what Achuthanandan says and will listen only to CPM Party secretary .

Political analysers had previously warned that this romance of Pinarayi with Karunakaran is to Sideline his enemy Achuthanandan and recent events stengthens their doubt. This Statement and counter statements are only the prologue of an upcoming Political drama.
