Watchtowers at Sabarimala to control the crowd

As part of its efforts to control the crowd at Sabarimala expected to be around 100 million this year, the Kerala Police will set up watchtowers and video surveillance at Sannidhanam.


According to Inspector General of Police (South Zone), Mr T P Senkumar, policemen from other states would be deployed as “spotters” to help the state police to identify troublemakers and criminal elements.


Besides, in order to enforce the ban on beggars Sabarimala has been dividied into five sectors, he said adding women traders would not be allowed beyond Pampa.
