HC directs CDB to provide details of appointments on contract
Kochi, Dec 13
A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court has directed the Cochin Devaswom Board (CDB) to provide complete details of appointments if it has made any on contract basis.
While admitting a petition filed by the CDB’s Special Devaswom Commissioner, Mr G Rajasekharan Nair, the Bench consisting of Justice J B Koshy and Justice M N Krishnan, has directed the CDB that if the Board made any appointment on a daily-wage basis hereafter, the list of persons appointed, the posts to which appointments were made and the reasons for such appointment should be given to the court in writing in two weeks.
Mr Nair in his petition pointed out that steps were being taken by the CDB to appoint clerical employees on contractual basis for a period of 89 days which was against the rules as a rank list for regular appointment was in in force.
