Residents stop attempt to construct cemetery

Kochi, Jan10: The public has thwarted the attempts by a Pentecost group to construct a cemetery in a densely populated area in the 11^th ward of the Mavelikkara Municipality ignoring mass protest.

The mission had tried earlier to construct the cemetery here about six months ago. However, following the protest by the public they had stopped the activities. But, they have resumed the work now which had attracted the ire of the residents of the area.

Residents warned that any attempt to build the cemetery in the residential area would be resisted at any cost.
