Parties wooing vote-banks in Kerala, alleges RSS

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has accused the political parties of wooing the Muslims with an eye on the vote-bank, forgetting threats to national security.

Terming the recent announcement by CPI(M) secretary Pinarayi Vijayan during the Kerala March offering support for the campaign for the early release of PDP chairman Abdul Nasser Madani from Coimbatore prison as most unfortunate and ‘anti-national’, RSS State Karyavah AR Mohan said that such negative politics for short-term gains implied national security risks.

Speaking at a press conference here on Monday held to explain the various aspects of the year long birth centenary celebrations of Mr Golvalkar, Mr Mohan said that there were reports recently by the Intelligence agencies and the Army on the presence of terrorist elements operating on the coasts of Kerala

“We all know who are the people supporting them. Some political parties, like the CPI(M), are now openly backing anti-national organisations like the NDF. Both the Congress and the Marxists are wooing the minority vote-banks for short-term gains,” he said.

Mr Mohan said that the cases against Madani were pending before courts and political parties should not be making own judgment.

“The cases against him are for harbouring anti-national elements and helping the trafficking of youths for training in Pakistan. Let the courts prove the points. Why are the Congress and the Marxists jumping into conclusions?” asked the RSS leader.

RSS Akhil Bharatiya Karyadarshi Mohan Bhagavath will inaugurate the Rashtraraksha Sangham campaign for the national security on January 26 at the university stadium here. It is expected that 50,000 RSS volunteers will participate in the function.

The Rashtraraksha Sanchalan by the 200-member Ghosh (band) team of the RSS, which started at the Bekal Fort in Kasargod on January 5 will conclude at East Fort in Thiruvananthapuram on January 24. RSS district Seva Pramukh Devi Das and N Gopal, organiser of the Rashtraraksha Sangham also attended the news conference.
