The All India Brahmin Federation (AIBF) would form a political party if the political parties continued to ignore the community and to protect their interests.

The AIBF President, Prof Devendra Sharma and General Secretary, Kotta Sankara Sharma who are here to launch the “Brahmandagarjana Yatra” organized by the AIBF, said at a press conference in Kalady that the Brahmin voters were in majority in the Palakkad and Thiruvananathapuram constituencies. Hence, if the political parties failed to field Brahmin candidates in these constituencies the Federation would put up its own candidates, they warned.

The “Brahmandagarjana Yatra” was flagged off by Prof Sharma from the Adi Sankara Janmabhoomi temple at Kalady on Sunday. The Yatra would conclude in Delhi in November, 2006, the organizers said.
