Marad commission to submit report on Feb. 20
The Marad Judicial Commission will submit its report to the government on Feb 20, according to a report quoting Court sources.
The One-man judicial commission was appointed on Dec 20, 2003 to inquire into the massacre of eight Hindus by Islamic terrorists group NDF at Marad Beach in Kozhikode district on May 02, that year.
The sources said today that the two volume report would be handed over to the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, in Thiruvanthapuram by Justice Thomas P Joseph.
Altogether 120 witnesses deposed before the Commission during 110 sittings and verified 622 records, the sources said.
The term of the Commission, which incurred an expenditure of Rs 16,08,385 while in office for nearly three years, will expire on February 22, the report added.
