SFI assaults CUSAT registrar
Kochi, Mar3: The registrar of Cochin University of Science and Technology(CUSAT) Dr A Ramachandran was manhandled by the SFI activists here. He has been admitted in the Medical Trust Hospital with serious injuries.
The physical assault on the Registrar is allegedly as part of the strike by the SFI followers demanding reinstatement of six students, who were suspended following an attack on the Vice-Chancellor’s office about three weeks back.
The Kalamassery Police have registered cases against 17 students in connection with the attack on the Registrar.
As the SFI strike has taken a violent turn the CUSAT authorities have decided to close the university.
