via Mahadev published on March 18, 2006

The Hindu organisations would launch strong agitation demanding publication of the Marad Judicial Commission report.

The decision was taken at a meeting organised by the Kozhikode District Coastal Araya Samajam attended by the office bearers of all the Araya Samajams and Kshetra Samithis in the district.

The Hindu Aikya Vedi State General Secretary, Mr T Suresh, in his opening speech said that the Hindu leaders meeting scheduled to be held in Guruvayur on Mar 25 -26 would chalk out the agitation programme.

Mr A Gopalakrishnan, RSS Pranthapracharak, said that the Hindu community would come out united to get this Judicial Commission Report public.

Meanwhile, the Kerala High Court has directed the CBI to take over the investigation of the bomb blast in a fishing boat, owned by six accused in the massacre of eight fishermen in Marad, on Sep 17 last and file final report as expeditiously as possible.

The Court has also directed the CBI that it should seek the assistance of other central government agencies like the Intelligence Bureau and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, besides that of the paramilitary forces such as the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard should share any information they have collected regarding Marad incident (six out of 18 owners of the boat are accused in the Marad massacre case).
