“Antony is out and Chandy is in doubt”-Venkaiah

The BJP National Vice-President, Mr Venkaiah Naidu said that the assembly elections in five states would be crucial because of its impact on the national politics.

Speaking at an Election rally in Northern Kerala, he said “The UPA will become more unstable and that may even lead to a situation where the country may have to go for another round of elections.”  

According to him the SP, BSP, TRS and MDMK had already expressed their resentment against the UPA government and even the Left parties were also unhappy with the Centre’s performance. 

In Kerala, he said, there had no development even after the UDF and LDF had ruled for several years. The only development that had taken place “was the exit of Antony as Chief Minister and his replacement by Oommen Chandy. Antony is out and Chandy is in doubt.” 

He exhorted the people to “allow the lotus to bloom” in the state as both the left and right fronts had so far been deceiving them so far. “Once we gain an entry into the assembly, you can see that the fragrance will spread fast,” he said. 

Mr Naidu denied the reports that the RSS and BJP were divided in the state. Both of them were maintaining perfect harmony. “It is because of the communal and casteist politics practised by both Fronts that we are unable to open our account,” he said. “When Karunakaran leaves Congress, half the party goes… but when he returns only one-fourth comes back,” he said, adding the newly-formed DIC(K) would turn “sick” after the elections.
