Jyotheendra Kumar upbeat

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The RSS cadre in Thiruvananthapuram East assemble constituency is in an upbeat mood but in a subdued manner. If the silent squad work undertaken by the Swayamsevaks are any indication, the prospects of Hindu Aikya Vedi leader Jyotheendra Kumar making it to the assembly are quite bright.

“We are doing our work. It is for the voters to decide whom to vote for,” said Sakthi, a young volunteer working round-the-clock for the success of Jyotheendra Kumar.

Jyotheendra Kumar opted for a low profile campaign. “The style was a study in contrast to the expensive campaigns launched by the Congress and CPM candidates,” says Sasi Kumar, a shop keeper at Thampanoor. Jyothee’s campaign managers focused more on inter-personal communication and the word of the mouth. By Friday evening, the entire East constituency was reverberating with the silent requests for a vote for Jyothee.
