The Pioneer thanks its readers and well-wishers in Kerala as it completes one year of publication in God’s Own Country.

It was exactly a year ago The Pioneer hit the Kerala news stands after Chief Minister Oommen Chandy formally launched the paper at a glittering function in Kovalam in the presence of Chief Editor Chandan Mitra, Printer and Publisher RV Himamuddeen and an august gathering of political leaders, businesspersons, top decision-makers and journalists.

Since then, The Pioneer in Kerala has been striving to bring to its readers news and analysis compiled and served in the most just perspective.

In the planning stage and the initial days of publication, skeptics had aired doubts about the sustainability of and the need for a third English daily newspaper in Kerala. There were even people who dared to predict that the paper was not meant to last a full year. But the conviction and commitment of a team of professionals, the great support from the readers and well-wishers and the invaluable inspiration provided by the Chief Editor and the Publisher made it imperative that the paper should live long.

The Pioneer has already proved that it is here to stay, and stay very differently, dispensing news and views in the most sane perspective in these confusing times.

The feedback we have been receiving for the past one year have been most encouraging. Intelligent and enlightened readers of The Pioneer have been instrumental in keeping our spirits high and in forcing us to adopt the best possible positions without deviating from our basic premises of journalistic ethics. We are proud that The Pioneer has proved in its one year of vibrant existence in Kerala that it is a different paper.

The Pioneer thanks its readers and well wishers once more at this moment of celebration of the first anniversary of publication. We assure that in the coming days The Pioneer will strive to have stronger involvement through value-based journalism in the socio-political life of this State.
