The BJP is confident it will win “at least two seats” in the State this Assembly elections this time around.

“As per our party feedback, we are hopeful of winning from Palakkad and Manjeswaram constituencies and thereby breaking the jinx by entering the state Assembly for the first time,” said BJP state president PS Sreedharan Pillai during a Press conference in Kozhikode on Monday.

His observation comes only three days before vote-counting in the State.

Pillai is also confident that the BJP will improve its vote percentange by about 30 to 50 per cent, as compared to the votes polled by the party in 2001.

Pillai brushed aside pre-poll prediction of a severe dip in BJP’s vote percentage and said there were indications that “we will put up a much improved performance this time”.

He said: “The Congress-led UDF will face a severe drubbing at the polls like never before.”
