Hartal complete and peaceful

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The dawn-to-dusk hartal called by RSS and BJP  in protest against the murder of RSS district seva pramukh N Sunil Kumar was complete.

Shops remained closed in the state capital and adjoining municipal towns and buses, taxis and autorickshaws were off the roads.However, the hartal did not disrupt functioning of offices.

Barring isolated cases of stone-pelting at vehicles, no untoward incident was reported from anywhere.

Inaugurating a protest march by RSS-BJP activists, State BJP president PS Sreedharan Pillai said the CPI(M) as well as the UDF had joined hands with religious extremist groups with connections even with the ISI of Pakistan. They were working against the Hindu majority and Hindu outfits in the State, he alleged
