Fatwa on football in Kerala

MALAPPURAM : Islamic organizations in Kerala has imposed fatwa on football. The game has suddenly become evil and various Islamic organizations in the state are busy weaning away the Muslim youths from the world cup frenzy.

Special classes are being held at various Madrasas in the state to exorcise the soccer ‘ghost’.

“The number of youths attending in Madrasa classes and Friday prayers has been reduced after the world cup football, Madrasas are more important than football for us” said spokesman of Samastha Kerala Sunni Student Federation.

“The Muslim boys are draining money like water. They stay awake throughout the night and miss Madrasa classes the next day,” said another religious leader.
