ABVP slams fee structure

KOZHIKODE: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has rejected the recommendations of the government-appointed committee regarding fee structure based on the new legislation on self-financing colleges. It has also decided to stage a protest march on Wednesday to a college that was recently granted the status due to an institution of a minority community. The ABVP leaders said it was unfair to allow self-financing colleges to collect the fee fixed by the K T Thomas Committee since most of the colleges did not possess the standards fixed by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). They flayed the decision of the government-appointed P A Mohammed Committee that had allowed the institutions to collect up to 15 per cent more than the fee fixed by the K T Thomas Committee.
