The Historic court verdict against NDF

via Raghavan Nair published on September 1, 2006

Kozhikode:Six NDF activists have been sentenced to life imprisonment and payment of a fine of Rs.50,000.00 each, in the infamous Nadapuram Binu murder case.  Marxist party member Binu was brutally murdered by NDF activists on 02 June 2001 at Nadapuram. It is for the first time in the state that,  a group of NDF activists have been found guilty of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Hitherto, media publicity and police action were always centred around RSS when attack or murder of Marxist party members takes place and vice versa when it happens to RSS members. Though the NDF was very much active in the state since 1993, the state intelligence agencies or the police were not ready to accept that reality or investigate into their activities. In over 12 years they have grown to a level demanding national acceptability and recognition with support of electronic media, newspapers and political leaning.

It is a strange coincidence that the court verdict against NDF activities came out at a time when the organization was holding its state convention at Thiruvananthapuram and were trying to project their clean image.  The verdict is clear evidence to the reality that NDF is not aiming at National Development but National Destruction through covert and avert operations. Their headquarters at Kozhikode and the district units are centres for harbouring criminals and carrying out murders and bomb explosions.

Though this court verdict could be termed as an historic event, it is unfortunate that the investigating agencies and the prosecution failed to bring out the conspiracy factor associated with the murder case and get a verdict for investigation into that direction as well. Let us hope that justice shall prevail and conspirators shall be booked one day.
