Marad: ‘CB should further probe Sooraj involvement’
KOZHIKODE: A petition has been filed before the Marad Special Court here on Friday, pleading to direct the Crime Branch to conduct further investigation into the involvement of former Kozhikode Collector T O Sooraj ‘in deliberately neglecting the Intelligence report on possible community clash in Marad’.
Judge Babu Mathew P. Joseph, who accepted the petition filed by Edapparuthy Muraleedharan through S.K.Premraj, posted it for hearing on September 29.
The petition has been filed based on media reports on the Marad Judicial Commission report which recommended action against some IAS and IPS officers including Sooraj.
The petition says the respondent – the State Government represented by the Superintendent of Police, CB-CID, Kozhikode – has not investigated the involvement of T O Sooraj ‘in neglecting, and omitting to communicate to the concerned authorities the prior Intelligence report, he had received on the probable community clash’
