Ban NDF – Hindu Aikya Vedi

via HK Correspondent published on September 30, 2006

Thiruvananthapuram: The Hindu Aikya Vedi president Shri. Sisupalan and the General Secretary Shri. Kumannam Rajasekharan has demanded that the real culprits in the Marad massacre, the NDF whom the enquiry commission has exposed should be banned without any hesitation.

The Aikya Vedi has welcomed the recommendation move by the enquiry commission that CBI should conduct an enquiry into the conspiracy, terrorist links and the inter-state connection involved in the marad massacre. Even after a prolonged 3 years, this move is a blessing to the Hindu society and a belated justice to the families of the eight victims.

The UDF govt and the opposition CPM then had vehemently opposed the demand for a CBI enquiry demanded by the Hindu organisations. Now after 3 years the oppertunistic CPM in order to gain political mileage has taken the CBI enquiry issue as its own decision. The CPM who had opposed the CBI enquiry after the massacre should apologies to the general public. Had they allowed for a CBI enquiry immediately after the massacre, the menace of Islamic fundamentalism would not have grown to such a magnitude as it is now. Also with the active participation of the CBI, the roots of fundamentalism could have been exposed and destroyed.

Understanding the necessity of wiping out the menace of terrorism vis-a-vis national security, the Hindu society had risen to the occasion and had conducted a series of strong protests and to pressurize the UDF govt. to go in for a CBI enquiry. When the former advocate General had stated that there are legal barriers in conducting CBI enquiry, the govt. has quickly endorsed his viewpoint.

The NDF, who are the prime culprit in the massacre should be banned. The various terror attacks which happened in Kerala during the past several months points the finger to the deadly extremists, the NDF. So the present CPM govt. should show its honesty and transparency to the public by banning the NDF. The enquiry commission in its findings has mentioned the role of the Muslim league also in the massacre. The Muslim league should oust from the party such members whose names are linked to the massacre. If it does’t the election commission should de-recognize its status as a political party for its undemocratic and anti-national policies.

The Hindu Aikya Vedi demanded the resignation of E.Ahamed, the minister of state for foreign affairs who offered Namaz at the Marad Juma Masjid in aftermath of the massacre.
