Hindu women power shakes up ‘The city of Literacy’
Kottayam: The city well-known as the literacy hub of Kerala received a novel experience on the occasion of Mathru shakti samellan. Thousands of women dressed-up in traditional Kerala attire lined up to demonstrate that they are the moral strength of the Hindu society. The sammelan was conducted as a part of the on going birth centenary of Shri Guruji Golwalker, the much revered thinker and the second sar sanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swamyamsevak Sangh.
The samellan was held at the Shiv shakti auditorium of the Thirunakkara temple grounds. The function was inaugurated by K.P.Shashikala teacher, the vice-chairperson of the Hindu aikya vedi. During her speech she pointed out that the unrest and turmoil that India is facing now can only be solved thru the help of women’s unity and support. During the Malabar rebellion, the Hindus constitute 85% of the Kerala population. Today it is reduced to a mere 50%. The need of the hour is for the Hindus to become one strong and organised community. With the help of Devaswom board, in Guruvayoor, an attempt to convert poor Hindus to Christianity took place recently. These incidents happen due to presence of anti-hindus in the temple governing board. Although the Guruvayoor temple collects 1.25 crore rupees as donations and other revenues, the poor hindus does not receive any financial assistance.
‘Mareecha’ of the epic Ramayana, who moves arround with false stories to betray its prey can be found at every nook and corner of our state. In order to eliminate the evil anti-hindu forces and to protect vulnerable hindu girls, the mathru shakti should rise up to the occasion, Shashikala teacher emphasised.
With single-minded efforts the Indian woman can reach out to success in any field, this was the opinion of the famous musician and the president of the mathru shakti celebration, Maatangi Satyamurti.
The main speaker of the concluding meeting was shri. A.Gopalakrishnan, the pranth pracharak of the RSS. Vaikom B.Rajammal presided over the function. Bhavani Chellapan, Uma devi, Shylamma Rajappan, Srila Pillai, Shanta S.Pillai, Adv. Jasmine also spoke during the meeting.
