Sangeeth is ‘Superstar’ in Amrita show
T’PURAM: After a three-hour-long neck and neck competition that forced thousands of anxious people around the globe to remain glued to their television sets with baited breaths, it was Sangeeth’s night out.
Sangeeth, a city guy, drove a Maruti Swift car back home after bagging the ‘Superstar’ title in the first reality show in Malayalam television history.
Job, the runner-up in the show organised by Amrita TV, rode a Bajaj Discover bike home.
The grand final, which lasted for nearly four hours here on Sunday night, fetched Sangeeth the support of 1,06,898 viewers who voted for him through SMS. Job received 81,146 voters.
Actor Dileep declared the winner in the midst of a galaxy of cinema, television actors and singers. A variety of entertainment programmes added charm to the event.
Amrita TV’s Junior Superstar contest for children in the 10-15 years age will begin on December 6.
A collection of the best moments from the superstar contest will be aired by Amrita from 8.00 pm to 9.00 pm from Monday to Friday.
