Elayaraja opens Sangeetha yagna at Makreri temple
MAKRERI (KANNUR): The Thyagaraja Akhanta Sangeetha Yagna organised at the Makreri Anjaneya temple here was inaugurated by noted musician Elayaraja. He also opened the Saraswathi Mantapam built at the temple.
DIG of Police S Anandakrishnan presided over the function. Veteran musician V Dakshinamurthy, organising committee chairman M Chandran, E P Harijayanthan Namboodiri, V M Damodaran, Assistant commissioner HR & CE, Chenda artiste Mattanur Sankarankutty and M Venugopalakurup were among those who offered felicitations. P K Venugopal presented a memento to Elayaraja.
The Akhanta Sangeetha Yagna, which began at 8.30 a m on Saturday, will come to a close at 8.30 a m on Sunday.
Noted musicians Kuzhalmandam Ramakrishnan, Kumar Kerala Varma, PKS Varma Pazhassi Thamburan, Ponkunnam Ramachandran, Mavelikkara P Subrahmanian, N Hari, Kanhangad Sankaran Namboodiri, Kanhangad Sreenivasan, Udayasanker, Payyavoor Unnikrishnan, M A Rajeevkumar and Jayasree Rajeev are participating in the yagna.
