Sankara study centre at Kalady on the cards

KOCHI: Swami Viswatmananda Puri, head of Sadhana Sadan Kankahl at Haridwar, visited Sringeri mutt at Kalady on Monday. He was received with poorna kumbham and vedic chant.

He said that there were plans to set up a Sankara study centre at Kalady.

Swadhyaya of the Prasthana Traya Bhashya, publication of Adi Sankara’s works in Indian languages, yoga centre, a centre for research work with advaita vedanta, a library and reading room, home for the aged, satsang on the works and philosophy of Adi Sankara, training for the propagation of vedic dharma and advaita vedanta and ‘go samrakshana kendra’ will be part of the study centre, he said.

Swami Viswatmananda asked people to keep away from fake gurus. These people indulge in unlawful and unethical activities in the name of religion and Sankara, he said.
