Swayamsevak Sunikumar’s Murder-NDF Terrorist under arrest

T’PURAM: The Crime Branch on Wednesday night arrested an NDF terrorist for the murder of RSS swayamsevak/Hindu Aikya Vedi leader Sunilkumar at Kilimanoor in May 2006 

NDF Terrorist Salim, a native of Karippur near Nedumangad, was arrested from the Beemapally locality. A police team, led by Crime Branch SP Manoj Abraham and DySP P.Reghu, arrested Salim by setting a trap. The police have also launched a search for six other NDF activists accused in the case.

Sunilkumar,was also the newspaper agent of Janmabhumi in the area, was murdered by a Jehadi Terrorists during the wee hours of May 9, 2006, while he was arranging newspaper bundles near Mahadeveswaram temple in Kilimanoor town. The gang members who came in a Toyota Qualis bearing ‘Press’ sticker hacked Sunilkumar to death.

They also fled the scene immediately. According to the police, The murder was initiated by local NDF leader Shaji.

The others accused in the case are Shayeel of Pothencode, Alameen of Balaramapuram, Ansar of Kumil, Nizam of Kallambalam, Shafi of Pangode and Fazil of Pallickal. Two NDF leaders are also suspected to be involved in the conspiracy to murder Sunilkumar. Police teams will be leaving for Tamil Nadu and Bangalore as part of the probe. The calls made from the mobile phones of the accused had helped the police to trace them.
