BJP leader attacked
KASARGOD: Madhur grama panchayat member and BJP leader C Prabhakaran, 35, was attacked in his house by a group of assailants in the wee hours of Friday.
Prabhakaran, who returned home at 2 am after attending the ‘Brahmakalasotsavam’ at the Udayagiri temple in Vidyanagar, was attacked on the veranda of his house near the municipal stadium.
The attack on Prabhakaran was a sequel to the clashes between two groups of youths in Chettumkuzhi on Thursday following the destruction of the festoons and flex boards erected in connection with the festival at the Udayagiri temple, said the police.
Prabhakaran was rushed to a private hospital here by local people.
