Move to oppose Modi’s visit,’Challenge to democracy’-VHP

Thiruvananthapuram: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) termed the opposition by DYFI and some Muslim outfits to the scheduled visit of Narendra Modi as a “challenge to democracy”.

Addressing a Press conference to announce the programme details of Hindu Mahamela organised by Sangh parivar outfits as part of Guruji Golwalker birth centenary celebrations, VHP State general secretary Kummanam Rajasekheran said in Thiruvananthapuram that opposing the visit of Modi was a “challenge to democracy and human rights”. Some might have differences upon the policies of Modi, but they should have the tolerance to hear what he had to say, he said.

Asked about the controversies over the invitation to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the Vishala Hindu Mahamela to be held at Thiruvanantahpuram on January 29, RSS State general secretary AR Mohan said he expected the Government to take a responsible decision.
